Nach meinem Urlaub in Deutschland, dem Besuch von Mutti bei uns sowie dem Ende der Sommersaison war es wieder Zeit dem Tierschutz hier unter die Arme zu greifen. Leider gibt es immer noch viel zu viele Leute, die ihre Haustiere nicht wertschätzen und einfach aussetzen. Dazu kommt der scheinbar unendliche Fluss an Kätzchen, weil Leute ihre Katzen/Kater nicht kastrieren lassen...
Vor 4 Wochen ist der kleine Godric (Gryffindor) mit nur 12 Wochen bei uns eingezogen. Er ist eine kleine Wildkatze, denn er wurde ohne menschlichen Kontakt draußen geboren. Bis jetzt ist er scheu und lässt sich (bisher) nicht anfassen. Allerdings ist er gerne im selben Raum wie wir und beobachtet uns von seinem hohen Ausguck im Kratzbaum. Wir schätzen (und hoffen), dass er bis Weihnachten vermittelbar sein wird und dann seine eigene Familie bekommen kann :)
Unser neuster Zuwachs kam erst gestern zu uns - Spitfire! (Inoffiziell von uns allerdings Sherlock genannt... ist auch Britisch... wie das Flugzeug nachdem er offiziell benannt ist.) Spitfire ist ca. 1 Jahr alt und sein offizieller Geburtstag ist der 1.Oktober. Damit haben wir zwei Geburtstagskinder im Haus, denn Eirik feiert am gleichen Tag ;) Der graue Herr ist unglaublich verschmust und verspielt. Sobald wir seine Harnwegsinfektion kuriert haben, wird er sicherlich schnell ein Zuhause finden. Mir ist unklar, wie seine früheren Besitzer ihn einfach aussetzen konnten :/
After my vacation in Germany, the visit of my mother and the end of the summer season it was time again to help out the animal protection society. Unfortunately there are still to many people, who don't treasure their pets and just abandon them. Also there seems to be an endless flood of kittens, because people don't know or realise, that they need to neuter their cats... for so many reasons.
Four weeks ago little Godric (Gryffindor) moved in with us, only 12 weeks old. He is a little wild cat and was born outside without any human contact. Until now he is still quite shy and doesn't want to be touched (yet). But he likes to be in the same room as us and he enjoys to watch us from the highest point of the cat tree. We hope and believe, that he will be ready for his own family around Christmas. Fingers crossed!
Our newest family member just arrived yesterday - officially called Spitfire (we do call him Sherlock... it is British as well as his airplane name). He is around one year old and got his official birthday set for October 1st. Which means we now have to birthday children that day in the house, since Eirik celebrates on the very same day. The little grey gentleman is incredible cuddly and playful. As soon as we cured his UTI he will be ready for his own home. I can not really understand for whatever reason his previous owners could abandon him on the streets... :/
