Urlaub in Las Vegas - vacation in Las Vegas

Nach 4 Tagen Urlaub sind wir wieder sicher in Chicago gelandet. Unser Urlaub in Las Vegas war sehr anstrengend, denn es gab so viel zu sehen und zu machen! Am Ende haben wir auch nicht alles geschafft, was wir uns vorgenommen hatten... Wir müssen wohl noch einmal hinfliegen ;) Die ersten beiden Tage verbrachten Eirik und ich sowie unsere beiden brazilianischen Nachbarn in der Stadt. Wir erkundeten viele Casinos und Hotels auf dem Las Vegas Strip und aßen uns durch die umfangreichen Buffets. Am Samstag- sowie Sonntagabend besuchten wir Shows des Circus de Soleil, welche sehr beeindruckend waren. Ein kleine Auswahl an Bildern möchte ich natürlich mit euch teilen!

After 4 days of vacation we savely returned to Chicago. Our vacation in Las Vegas was very exhausting, because there is so much to see and do in the city itself. In the end we didn't manage to do everything we planned to do... I guess we have to come back another time! Eirik and I as well as our Brazilian neighbours spend the first two days exploring the city. We explored many casinos and hotels at the famous Las Vegas strip and ate ourself through the enormous buffets. In the evening on saturday and sunday we enjoyed two shows from Circus de Soleil, which were both very nice and impressive. Über den Wolken - above the clouds

Wir leben noch! Wenn ich auf das letzte Wochenende zurückblicke, dann ist das durchaus eine berechtigte Aussage. Am Samstag ging es für uns zum Flugplatz, damit Eirik sein erste Flugstunde wahrnehmen konnte, welche ich ihm letztes Jahr zum 5-jährigen Jubiläeum geschenkt hatte. Nach einer Kombination aus Laufen-Zug-Laufen-Zug-Taxi und 2 Stunden später kamen wir auch am Flugplatz außerhalb von Chicago an. Dann standen für Eirik 3 Stunden Theorie und 1 Stunde Praxis auf dem Programm. Ich hatte es mir in dieser Zeit im Voraum der Flugschule bequem gemacht. Da ich Flugzeuge und Fliegen selbst nicht besonders mag, brach mir ein wenig der Schweiß, als ich daran dachte 1. in ein so kleines Flugzeug einzusteigen und 2. das Eirik es fliegen würde... Letztlich ging alles gut und wir kamen nach einem langen Tag am späten Abend auch wieder zu Hause an. Ob Eirik jetzt mit dem Flugschein weiter macht, werden wir entscheiden, wenn wir wieder zu Hause in Tromsø sind.

We are still alive! WhenI look back on the last weekend, then this is a valid statement. On saturday we went to an airport so Eirik could take on his first pilot lesson, which I gave him as a gift for our 5-year anniversary last year. After a combination of walking-train-walking-tran-taxi and two hours later we arrived at the airport outside of Chicago. Eirik's programme were three hours of theory and one hour of practice. In the meanwhile I was relaxing in the lobby of the flight training school. Because I am not to fond of airplanes and flying itself I got quite nervous thinking about 1. entering such an small airplane and 2. Eirik flying it... In the end everything was well and we arrived safely home after a long day out. I am not sure, if Eirik will continue with his pilot lessons. I assume we will decide this, when we are back home in Tromsø.
