Norge - Deutschland: Zion-Nationalpark

Am dritten Tag haben wir das erste Mal die Stadt verlassen und sind Richtung Westen zum Zion-Nationalpark aufgebrochen. Nach einer 2 1/2 stündigen Autofahrt erreichten wir den Nationalpark auch und fuhren zuerst einmal mit dem Auto durch den Park. Dabei legten wir zahlreiche Stopps ein, um die beeindruckende Landschaften zu bestaunen. Danach ging es mit dem Shuttlebus durch einen besonderen Bereich des Park, welche man nur zu Fuß, auf dem Rad oder mit dem Shuttlebus besuchen darf. Ein kleine Wanderung zu den berühmten "Emerald Pools" (Smaragdseen) sollte unseren Besuch abschließen... leider waren die Flüsse kaum mit Wasser gefüllt und die Seen nur kleine Tümpel... Dennoch war es ein toller Ausflug und auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert!

On the third day we left Las Vegas for the first time and drove towards Zion National Park in the west. The trip was a little over 2 1/2 hours to reach the park and then we decided to start our stay with a drive through the park itself. Of course we made several stops to have a good look a the stunning landscapes. Afterwards we took the shuttle bus to get to a special area of the park, which you are only allowed to enter by foot, bicycle or with the shuttle bus. A small hike to the famous "Emerald Pools" should have been the grand finale for out trip... but unfortunately there was not enough water in the rivers to fill the pools and they were more like puddles than pools. Besides that it was a great trip and comes highly recommend!
