Memorial Day Urlaub in Michigan - Memorial Day vacation in Michigan

Wir sind aktuell so viel unterwegs, dass ich mit dem Blog gar nicht hinterher komme. Am letzten Montag im Mai gibt es in den USA den Memorial Day, welcher zu Ehren aller gefallenen Soldaten gefeiert wird. Bei den vielen Kriegen scheint das notwendig zu sein so einen Feiertag zu haben. Eirik und ich sowie einige Freunde haben das verlängerte Wochenende genutzt und sind nach Michigan gefahren. Dort hatten wir uns ein Haus am See gemietet :) Es war ein toller Kurzurlaub mit schönem Wetter, Kanu fahren und Speisen aus aller Welt (USA, Brasilien, Venezuela, ...). Dazu haben wir eine richtige amerikanische Party gefeiert mit Bier Pong, Flip Cup und Shot Bieren. Leider hatte ich mich ein wenig erkältet und war auf der Rückreise nicht besonders fit. Wahrscheinlich bin ich einmal zu viel aus dem Kanu ins kalte Seewasser gefallen ;) (Mittlerweile bin ich wieder gesund!)

Right now we are traveling so much, that I can hardly keep up with the blog. The last monday of May every year is Memorial Day here in the U.S. to honour all the fallen soldiers. If you participate in so many wars, then I guess you need a holiday like this one. Eirik and I as well as some friends used the long weekend for a trip to Michigan. We rented a nice house on Lake Michigan. It was a great short trip with good weather, trying to canoe and many different foods (U.S., Brasil, Venezuala, ...). We also celebrated an American party with beer pong, flip cup and beer shots. Unfortunately I got a little sick and I wasn't at my bests on the way home. I probably fell in the cold water one too many times ;) (By now I am healthy again!)
